2.45.010 Department created.

There is hereby created the parks and public property department. [Code 2000 § 12-1-1].

2.45.020 Superintendent.

There is hereby created the position of parks superintendent who shall be the parks and public property department supervisor. The parks superintendent shall be selected and appointed by the city manager and may be an employee of the city who has other duties and responsibilities. [Code 2000 § 12-1-2].

2.45.030 Powers and duties of parks superintendent.

It shall be the duty of the parks superintendent to supervise the operations and maintenance of the city’s parks, public grounds and buildings in accordance with the provisions of the city ordinances and rules and regulations adopted by the city council. The parks superintendent shall keep suitable records of the parks, public grounds and buildings and make periodic inspection of the same. The parks superintendent shall report directly to the city manager and, upon request, report to the mayor and city council the condition of facilities under the supervision of the parks superintendent. The parks superintendent may employ, subject to approval of the city manager, such help as deemed necessary to carry out the duties of parks superintendent. [Code 2000 § 12-1-3].
