There is hereby created a public works department with the responsibility for constructing and maintaining municipal roads, public works, and utilities and maintaining city equipment and vehicles. The head of the department shall be the public works director appointed by the city manager. (Ord. 77-7 § 2 (part), 1977; Ord. 86-8 § 1, 1986.)
2.52.020 Responsibilities.
It is the responsibility of the public works director to provide for efficient management and operation of the department in fulfilling its responsibilities, to construct and maintain municipal roads, public works, utilities and to maintain equipment and vehicles and to perform such other duties as required by law and as are delegated to him/her by the city manager.
