LIQUOR LICENSES GENERALLY

5.24.010 Application process.
A. Upon receipt of a liquor license application other than a special event or extension of premises/patio permit from the Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control, the Town Clerk shall:
1. Promptly send two (2) copies of the application, notice of posting, and affidavit of posting to the Police Department for posting of the application on the business and for a background check. The affidavit and application must be posted for twenty (20) days.
2. Promptly send one (1) copy of the application to the Community Development Department for a zoning review.
3. Schedule the license application on the consent agenda for the first meeting after the posting is to be completed, and within the time limits for agenda preparation. Notify the applicant of the date the matter will be placed on the Council agenda, and mail the applicant a follow-up reminder the week prior to the Council meeting.
B. For a special event liquor license the applicant will fill out the appropriate application giving all of the pertinent information. The Mayor will sign the application for ratification by the Town Council. The applicant will then send the application to the Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control with the appropriate fee at least seven (7) days prior to the event.
C. When an application for extension of premises patio permit is received from the Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control, the Town Clerk will promptly make copies and forward them to the Police Department and Community Development Director for the background and zoning review. There is no posting requirement for an extension of premises patio permit. The Town Clerk will schedule the permit for the next possible Town Council agenda.
D. After the Council has acted on the application, the Town Clerk shall fill out the appropriate form(s) and mail to the Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control along with the original Affidavit of Posting.
5.24.020 Fees.
A. Any person applying for any type of liquor license shall submit the application along with the applicable application fee as established from time-to-time by resolution of the Town Council. (Ord. 06-266)
