RENTAL OF PARK FACILITIES AND EQUIPMENT

12.30.010 Fees – Use of expendable recreation equipment – Damage deposits.
The director may charge fees for use of expendable recreation equipment belonging to the town. Such fees shall be reasonable and shall be based on the type of activity for which the equipment is to be used, the time of use, and the condition of the equipment. When returned to the department of parks and recreation, a portion of the damage deposit shall be refunded after retaining the fair market value of the damages, if any. Failure to return equipment shall cause forfeiture of the damage deposit. The director shall prepare, in duplicate, an itemized list of equipment issued and shall set forth thereon the deposit paid for each item issued. [Ord. 2001-11; prior code § 15-6-1.]
12.30.020 Fees – Use of certain meeting rooms – Reservation fees for ramadas, reserved park areas, special interest areas, sports fields, volleyball courts – Fees for special maintenance.
A. The fee for reservation and use of recreation center meeting rooms, ramadas, reserved park areas, special interest areas, sport and volleyball courts, and other park facilities shall be as set by a fee schedule adopted from time to time by the director.
B. The users of any park facility referred to in this chapter may request special maintenance of any athletic facility referred to in this chapter. The request shall be in writing at least 24 hours prior to the requested special maintenance. In writing, the department shall advise the party requesting special maintenance, within a reasonable time, the cost of providing the special maintenance. The costs shall be an estimate of the actual cost to the town of providing a service, and shall be paid for in advance.
C. The rental fee for each concession stand at sports fields shall be as set from time to time by the director. [Ord. 2001-11; prior code § 15-6-2.]
12.30.030 Procedure for waiver of fees.
The fees established in this chapter for use of recreation facilities may be waived in whole or in part by the town manager or his or her delegate. The criteria used for waiver or partial waiver of such fees shall be based on the individual’s or applicant’s ability to pay. Waiver or partial waiver of a fee shall not prevent the town manager or his or her delegate from requiring a full or partial fee for subsequent participation by an individual or applicant. No waiver shall be given for participation in team league sports. The director shall maintain a roster of those who have been granted waivers or partial waivers of fees provided for herein. Obtaining waiver or partial waiver of any fee authorized to be waived or partially waived as provided for herein, by furnishing false information to the town manager or his or her delegate, shall be a violation of this section.
