2.04.010 Meetings.

The regular meetings of the board of supervisors of the county shall be held in the board of supervisors’ chambers in the Alpine County Administration Building, Markleeville, California, on the first and third Tuesdays of each month, commencing at the hour of nine a.m.; provided, that in the event the date so set for any regular meeting shall fall upon a holiday, as defined by Section 6700 of the Government Code, then such regular meeting shall be held on the next business day commencing at the hour of nine a.m. (Ord. 423 § 1, 1983)

2.04.020 Compensation.

A. On the effective date of the ordinance codified in this section board of supervisors compensation shall be set at twenty percent of a sitting superior court judge in the state of California and adjusted so as to maintain that percentage.

B. The chair of the board shall receive an additional stipend of one hundred dollars a month during his/her term as chair.

C.    This section shall be effective sixty days from the last date of enactment pursuant to Government Code Section 25123.5. (Ord. 749 § 2, 2022; Ord. 710 § 2, 2015)

2.04.030 Health access fee.

Where participation in any county-sponsored health benefits plan requires payment of a union representation or access fee, the county shall fully fund said fee on behalf of elected members of the board of supervisors in the equivalent sum of the representation and/or access fee. 2.04.040 Supervisor-elect travel and training.

A. Pursuant to Government Code Section 25208.4, expenditures of county funds for training and orientation of persons elected to, but who have not yet assumed office as members of, the board of supervisors are authorized as an appropriate and permitted expenditure of county funds.

B. A supervisor-elect shall make requests for training and orientation in writing for approval by the county administrative officer (CAO) or director of finance.

C. Expenses and reimbursement may include the payment of course fees, conference fees, travel, lodging, meals and per diem expenses, and course materials. All expenses and reimbursements shall be consistent with the approved county travel policy. A supervisor-elect may seek funding for travel/training if funds are available within the budget of that supervisorial district and/or as approved by the director of finance or CAO.

D. Conferences and training offered by California State Association of Counties (CSAC), Rural County Representatives of California (RCRC), and similar government organizations are deemed appropriate and beneficial for newly elected supervisors. (Ord. 752 §§ 1—4, 2023)
