OFF-ROAD VEHICLES

10.20.010 Off-road vehicle defined.
For the purpose of this chapter, an “off-road vehicle” is defined as follows:
A. Any motorcycle or motor-driven cycle;
B. Any snowmobile or other vehicle designed to travel over snow or ice;
C. Any motor vehicle commonly referred to as a sand buggy, dune buggy, or all-terrain vehicle. (Ord. 378 § 2, 1977)
10.20.020 Operation prohibited where.
It is unlawful for any person to operate an off-road vehicle:
A. On the frozen surface of any lake or reservoir within the county;
B. On the surface of the ground or bottom of any lake or reservoir within the county between the high water mark and the low water mark. (Ord. 378 § 1, 1977)
10.20.030 Vehicles exempt from chapter provisions.
Exceptions to this chapter:
A. Persons in emergency vehicles when responding to an emergency situation;
B. Persons in vehicles which belong to any federal, state or local governmental entity when acting within the scope of their employment;
C. The owners of any private lake or their agents when on such private lake. (Ord. 378 § 3, 1977)
10.20.040 Violation—Penalty.
Any failure to comply with the provisions of this chapter is a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of three hundred dollars and/or imprisonment in the County Jail for a term of not more than three months. (Ord. 378 § 4, 1977)
