Government Code 29550 authorizes the imposition by the board of supervisors of a fee upon all cities, special districts, and school districts in the county for reimbursement of county expenses incurred with respect to the booking or other processing of persons arrested by employees of said cities, special districts, or school districts, where the arrested persons are brought to the county jail for booking or detention. Said fee is the "criminal justice administrative fee" and referred to herein as "the fee." (Ord. 1259 §1(part), 1991).
3.40.020 Imposition of fee.
The board of supervisors imposes the fee in the amount set forth in Resolution No. 90-479 and its successors upon all cities, special districts and school districts within the county for reimbursement of county expenses incurred with respect to the booking or other processing of persons arrested by employees of any of said cities, special districts, or school districts, where the arrested persons are brought to the county jail for booking or detention. The fee set forth in Resolution No. 90-479 and its successors shall not exceed the actual costs, as permitted by federal Circular A-87 Standards, incurred in booking or otherwise processing arrested persons. 3.40.030 Annual change in fee.
The county auditor shall annually submit to the board of supervisors an updated recalculation of said fee not to exceed said costs. The board may change said fee by resolution based on the costs provided by the county auditor., (Ord. 1259 §1(part), 1991).
3.40.040 Invoicing for payment of fee.
The county auditor shall submit an invoice to said cities, special districts, or school districts for the fee imposed by this chapter after the effective date of the ordinance codified in this chapter. (Ord. 1259 §1(part), 1991).
