19.40.010 Electrical transmission lines and electric substations.
Electrical transmission lines proposed to carry more than one hundred thousand volts may be allowed in any zone district, provided a use permit is first obtained. Electric substations may be allowed in any zone district, provided a use permit is first obtained. This provisions shall not apply to activities preempted by state law; except that no use permit shall be required for electric substations that may be in M or MM zone district. Criteria which shall be used in making decisions on use permits for these projects shall be:
A. The proposed project’s potential impacts on aesthetics, noise and vegetation shall be mitigated to the extent possible; including the re-route alternative if necessary.
B. The proposed project’s potential benefits to the citizens of Amador County shall be presented or discussed by the applicant.
C. Proposed projects located within the region specified in the Amador, Alpine and El Dorado County joint-powers agreement of 1984 shall be referred to the tri-county technical advisory committee, if still existent, for review and comment to the county prior to a final decision being made on the use permit. 19.40.020 Communication equipment buildings--Where permitted.
Communication equipment buildings may be allowed in any district, other than an R district, provided a use permit is first obtained; except, that no use permit shall be required for such in any U district. (Ord. 358 §8(part), 1963: Ord. 351 §10.402, 1962).
19.40.030 Service yards--Where permitted.
Public utility service yards may be allowed in any A, C-2 or M district, provided a use permit is first obtained. (Ord. 358 §8(part), 1963: Ord. 351 §10.403, 1962).
