With the exception of toys, it is unlawful for any person to discharge any rifle, shotgun, pistol, revolver, or firearm of any kind, or to shoot any bow exceeding 20-pound pull, or arrow exceeding 24 inches, except when necessary to protect life or property, or to kill or destroy any predatory or dangerous animal, or at any approved pistol, rifle, or target range, or when discharged by a bona fide gunsmith into a test tube while repairing a weapon.
