FIRE HAZARD SEVERITY ZONE DESIGNATION

8.50.010 Designation.
This chapter requires the fire department to designate high fire hazard severity zones within its jurisdiction within 120 days of receiving recommendations from the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection. [Ord. 97-1 § 1.]
8.50.020 Exceptions – Areas not recognized.
This chapter permits the fire department, at its discretion, not to recognize areas within its jurisdiction identified by the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection as very high fire hazard severity zones following a finding supported by substantial evidence in the record that the requirements for very high fire hazard severity zones are not necessary for effective fire protection within the area. 8.50.030 Exceptions – Additional areas.
This chapter permits the fire department, at its discretion, to include areas within its jurisdiction, not identified as high fire hazard severity zones by the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, as very high fire hazard severity zones following a finding supported by substantial evidence in the record that the requirements for very high fire hazard severity zones are necessary for effective fire protection within the area.
