8.04.010 Adoption and definitions.

A. This chapter is adopted pursuant to, and is intended to be consistent with, the State Fireworks Law (Health and Safety Code Sections 12500 et seq.).

B. The meaning and definition of all terms used in this chapter shall be the same as such terms are defined and used in the State Fireworks Law. (Ord. 331 § 1, 1977; prior code § 8.2-1).

8.04.020 Compliance with chapter required for sale, possession or use.

No person or entity shall sell, possess, use or discharge any fireworks within the corporate limits of the City, except as permitted by this chapter. (Ord. 331 § 1, 1977; prior code § 8.2-2).

8.04.030 Public display of fireworks.

Public displays of fireworks may be permitted within the corporate limits of the City if conducted by a person appropriately licensed under the State Fireworks Law, upon obtaining from the Fire Department of the City a permit applied for and granted in accordance with the provisions of Sections 12640 et seq. of the Health and Safety Code.
