DOGS IN PARKS DURING PUBLIC FESTIVALS

7.28.040 Prohibition of dogs from parks during public festivals – Exceptions.
7.28.020 Definitions.
As used in this chapter:
“Parks” means and includes any park located within the city and owned by the city.
“Public festival” means all events sponsored by or approved by the city that result in the gathering of people in public parks, including, but not limited to, the kids’ day festival, the accordion festival and the Cotati jazz festival. (Ord. 788 § 1(part), 2006).
7.28.040 Prohibition of dogs from parks during public festivals – Exceptions.
Any owner or person in possession, custody or control of any dog is prohibited from either wilfully or negligently permitting said dog, whether leashed or unleashed, to be present in any park during public festivals, and during the setup and removal of festival booths and displays except as follows:
A. Assistance dogs and service dogs in the performance of their duties, may be present during public festivals at all times.
B. An owner or person having possession, custody or control of an animal may permit the same to enter upon a public park during a public festival during which specific animals have been specifically permitted by the city as part of such public festival and when such permission is posted at the main entrance to the park upon which the public festival is being held. 7.28.060 Public nuisance.
Violation of this chapter shall be considered a public nuisance. (Ord. 788 § 1(part), 2006).
7.28.080 Notice.
Organizers of public festivals shall post a reasonable number of notices in conspicuous locations warning of the prohibitions set forth herein and shall cite the ordinance codified in this chapter in said notices. (Ord. 788 § 1(part), 2006).
