SOLID FUEL SPACE HEATING DEVICES

14.29.010 New installation and replacement.

The new installation or replacement of either a woodburning stove, fireplace or fireplace insert or any other form of open or solid fuel space heating device in any building or structure in the city shall be permitted only on the following basis:

A. The stove, fireplace, insert or solid fuel space heating device is included by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) on their Phase II list, “Residential Wood Heaters,” which is attached as Exhibit A to the ordinance codified in this chapter.

B. The stove, fireplace, insert or solid fuel space heating device is certified by the Air Quality Management District. (Ord. 589 § 1, 1993).
