CITY ATTORNEY

The city attorney shall be appointed by the city council and serve at the pleasure of the city council. (1964 Code § 2.4.)
2.12.020 Duties – Compensation other than salary.
It shall be the duty of the city attorney to advise the city authorities and officers in all legal matters pertaining to the business of the city and to frame all ordinances and resolutions required by the city council.
The city attorney shall perform such other legal services as the city council may require from time to time. For such other legal services the city attorney shall be paid, in addition to his salary, such compensation as may be allowed by the city council. (1964 Code § 2.5.)
