5.32.010 Application for permission.
Whenever any person, organization or association desires to open, keep, conduct or carry on any public dance, or to hold any dance for profit, or for which an admission fee is to be charged, in this city, such person shall make an application in writing to the chief of police for permission to conduct such dance. 5.32.020 Contents of application.
The application shall contain and set forth the following:
A. The name and residence of the applicant or applicants, and if an association or organization applies for such permit, the name of the association or organization, and the names of the officers of such association or organization, and the name of the person or persons who will manage or conduct the dance;
B. The date on which such dance is to be held and the particular place for which such permit is desired;
C. Said application must be signed and verified by the applicant or applicants therefor. (Prior code §§ 2312, 2312.1, 2312.2, 2312.3)
5.32.030 Consideration of application.
Upon receiving such application for a permit to establish, open, keep, conduct or carry on a dance, the chief of police may upon consideration and investigation determine whether such permit shall be granted or denied. (Prior code § 2313)
5.32.040 Issuance or denial of permit.
If the chief of police determines that such permit shall be granted, he shall issue a permit to such applicant, or if he determines that such a permit shall be denied he shall notify such applicant in writing that said application for a permit has been denied. (Prior code § 2313.1)
5.32.050 Permit scope and validity.
Such permit, when issued, shall specify the place where and the date when such dance may be held; and no permit shall be valid after the expiration of the date fixed therein for the holding of such dance. (Prior code § 2313.2)
5.32.060 Minors restricted.
No girl or boy under the age of eighteen years, unless accompanied by a parent or chaperon, shall be admitted. (Prior code § 2314)
5.32.070 Revocation of permit.
Any dance permit is subject to revocation by the chief of police at any time he may deem it advisable, for good cause appearing to him so to do. (Prior code § 2315)
5.32.080 Admittance to enforce.
The chief of police may visit, without charge, any dance, for the holding of which a permit is required, at any time during the progress of such dance. (Prior code § 2316)
