6.52.010 Notice to owner to abate.
Wherever animal control officers find a nuisance to exist within the meaning of Chapters 6.16 through 6.80 they shall notify the owner of the animal by registered mail that owner shall either abate the nuisance within ten days or show cause why the nuisance should not be summarily abated. 6.52.020 Citation—Impoundment.
Any regularly employed salaried officers, including animal control officers and community service officers, can issue a city of Dinuba administrative citation to the owner of the animal that is creating a nuisance. For the first violation, the owner of the animal that is creating the nuisance shall be issued a citation warning. A subsequent violation within one year of the issued warning, and each subsequent violation within one year, shall be issued a citation and subject to fine as set forth in Section 1.16.010. 6.52.030 Complaint procedure.
Any individual making a complaint shall furnish their name, address, telephone number, indicate a willingness to sign a complaint, and provide such testimony in the appropriate court as may be required. (Ord. 670 (part), 1984)
6.52.040 Abandoning animal prohibited.
It is unlawful for any person to abandon any animal within the city. Any person violating this section shall bear full costs and expenses incurred by the city in the care of the abandoned animal and shall reimburse to the city all the costs as determined by the city.
