QUARANTINE OF ANIMALS

6.68.010 Required when.
Any animal which bites a person shall be quarantined as required by the state law. (Ord. 94-8 § 2 (part), 1994: Ord. 670 (part), 1984)
6.68.020 Suspected rabid animal—Killing prohibited pending diagnosis.
No animal control officer, police officer or other person shall kill, or cause to be killed, except in self-defense or defense of another person, any animal suspected of being rabid except after the animal has been placed in quarantine and the diagnosis of rabies made by a licensed veterinarian. If a veterinarian diagnoses rabies in an animal in quarantine, then the animal shall be humanely killed by a veterinarian or the contracting pounding facility.
