SPEED LIMITS

10.04.010 Established.
The city council, pursuant to Sections 22358 and 22357 of the California Vehicle Code, establishes upon the basis of engineering and traffic surveys, the prima facie speed limits on portions of certain streets within the city as hereinafter set forth in Table 10.04.020. (Ord. 209 § 1, 1982)
10.04.020 Speed limits designated.
It shall be prima facie unlawful to operate any vehicle at a speed in excess of that established as set out in Table 10.04.020. (Ord. 540 § 3, 2014; Ord. 392 § 1, 1994; Ord. 365 § 1, 1992; Ord. 300 § 1, 1988; Ord. 209 § 2, 1982)
10.04.030 Posting of signs.
The director of public works shall erect signs giving notice of prima facie speed limits as set forth in Table 10.04.020, upon said city streets. (Ord. 209 § 3, 1982)
10.04.040 Violation – Penalty.
Violation of this chapter shall be punishable in the manner prescribed by Section 42001 of the California Vehicle Code. (Ord. 209 § 4, 1982)
