10.04.010 Generally.
A. The words and phrases set forth in this chapter, when used in this title, have the meanings respectively ascribed to them in this chapter.
B. Whenever any words or phrases used in this title are not defined in the Vehicle Code of this state, such definitions are incorporated in this chapter and shall be deemed to apply to such words and phrases used in this title as though set forth in this chapter in full. (Ord. 333 § 3200, 1973).
10.04.020 Loading zone.
“Loading zone” means the space adjacent to a curb reserved for the exclusive use of vehicles during the loading or unloading of passengers or materials. (Ord. 333 § 3201, 1973).
10.04.030 Official time standard.
Whenever certain hours are named in this title, they shall mean standard time or daylight saving time as may be in current use in the city. (Ord. 333 § 3202, 1973).
10.04.040 Official traffic-control devices.
“Official traffic-control devices” means all signs, signals, markings, and devices not inconsistent with this title placed or erected by authority of a public body or official having jurisdiction for the purpose of regulating, warning, guiding traffic, or regulating parking. (Ord. 333 § 3203, 1973).
10.04.050 Official traffic signals.
“Official traffic signals” means any device, whether manually, electrically, or mechanically operated, by which traffic is alternately directed to stop and proceed and which is erected by authority of a public body or official having jurisdiction. (Ord. 333 § 3204, 1973).
10.04.060 Park.
“Park” means to stand or leave standing any vehicle, whether occupied or not, otherwise than temporarily for the purpose of loading or unloading of passengers or materials. (Ord. 333 § 3205, 1973).
10.04.070 Parkway.
“Parkway” means that portion of a street other than a roadway or a sidewalk. (Ord. 333 § 3206, 1973).
10.04.080 Passenger loading zone.
“Passenger loading zone” means the space adjacent to a curb reserved for the exclusive use of vehicles during the loading or unloading of passengers. (Ord. 333 § 3207, 1973).
10.04.090 Pedestrian.
“Pedestrian” means any person afoot. (Ord. 333 § 3208, 1973).
10.04.100 Stop.
“Stop,” when required, means complete cessation of movement. (Ord. 333 § 3209(a), 1973).
10.04.110 Stop or stand.
“Stop or stand,” when prohibited, means any stopping or standing of a vehicle, whether occupied or not except when necessary to avoid conflict with other traffic or in compliance with the directions of a police or official traffic-control device. (Ord. 333 § 3209(b), 1973).
10.04.120 Traffic.
“Traffic” means pedestrians, ridden or herded animals, vehicles, and other conveyances either singly or together while using any street for purposes of travel. (Ord. 333 § 3210, 1973).
