JUMPING FROM BRIDGES

9.40.010 Prohibited.

It is unlawful for any person to jump, leap, dive or otherwise propel themselves from any public bridge in the City of Foster City. (Ord. 157 1 (part), 1977)

9.40.020 Presence for purpose of jumping prohibited.

It is unlawful for any person to be present on any public bridge in the city for the purpose of jumping, leaping, diving or otherwise propelling themselves from any public bridge in the city. (Ord. 157 1 (part), 1977)

9.40.030 Signs to be posted.

The city manager is directed to post all of the bridges in the city with appropriate signs warning of the provisions of this chapter and setting forth penalties for violation. (Ord. 157 1 (part), 1977)

9.40.040 Violation—Penalty.

Any person violating any provision of this chapter shall be guilty of an infraction, and shall be punished for a first conviction by a fine of not more than fifty dollars; for a second conviction within a period of one year, by a fine of not more than one hundred dollars; and for a third or any subsequent conviction within a period of one year, by a fine of not more than two hundred fifty dollars.
