2.08.010 Need for agency declared.
It is hereby found, determined and declared that there is a need for a redevelopment agency to function in the city in accordance with the provisions of the Community Redevelopment Law. (Ord. 1643 § 1 (part), 2003)
2.08.020 Agency established.
The redevelopment agency is hereby established pursuant to Health and Safety Code Section 33101, to be known as the “Redevelopment Agency of the City of Gardena.” (Ord. 1643 § 1 (part), 2003)
2.08.030 City council designated as agency – Compensation.
Pursuant to the provisions of Health and Safety Code Section 33200, the city council hereby declares itself to be the redevelopment agency of the city. Redevelopment agency members shall receive compensation as authorized under the Community Redevelopment Law. (Ord. 1643 § 1 (part), 2003)
2.08.040 Designation of council found to serve public interest.
The city council hereby finds and determines that the designation of the city council as the redevelopment agency of the city will serve the public interest and promote the public safety and welfare in an effective manner in that this public body is best able to serve the needs of the community to implement the purposes of the Community Redevelopment Law. (Ord. 1643 § 1 (part), 2003)
