DIRECTOR OF FINANCE

2.20.010 Office created.
In order to establish a central area for the uniform processing and development of all fiscal and budgetary functions, there is created the office of director of finance for the city. (Prior code § 2-9.01)
2.20.020 Powers and duties.
The director of finance shall be charged with all the finance and accounting duties of the city and shall be subject to all the powers granted and imposed upon the city clerk by the provisions of Article I of Chapter 4 of Part 2 of Division 3 of Title IV of the Government Code of the state and Sections 40802 through 40805 of said Government Code. The director of finance shall perform such other duties as may be delegated from time to time by the council or city manager. (Prior code § 2-9.02)
2.20.030 Transfer of city clerk’s duties.
In accordance with the provisions of Section 40805.5 of the Government Code of the state, all of the finance and accounting duties imposed upon the City Clerk under Sections 40802 through 40805 of said Government Code are transferred to the director of finance and the city clerk is relieved of all such duties. (Prior code § 2-9.03)
2.20.040 Bond.
The director of finance shall execute and deposit with the city a fidelity bond as required of the city clerk by Section 36518 of the Government Code of the state. Such bond shall be in the sum of fifty thousand dollars. (Prior code § 2-9.04)
2.20.050 Authority to combine position with other offices.
The position of director of finance may be combined with that of any other office in the city by resolution of the council. (Prior code § 2-9.05)
