8.40.010 ESTABLISHMENT OF CROSSWALKS:
A. Crosswalks Designated And Maintained: The chief of police shall establish, designate, and maintain crosswalks at intersections and other places by appropriate devices, marks, or lanes upon the surface of the roadway, as follows: crosswalks shall be established and maintained at all intersections within the central traffic district; and at such other intersections outside of such district and at other locations within or outside of such district as are designated by any ordinance or resolution, subject to the limitations contained in subsection B of this section.
B. Limitation On Location: Other than crosswalks at intersections, no crosswalk shall be established in any block which is less than four hundred feet (400’) in length. Elsewhere, not more than one additional crosswalk shall be established in any one block, and such crosswalk shall be located as nearly as practicable at midblock. (1972 Code § 10.56.010)
8.40.020 CROSS ONLY AT CROSSWALK AREAS:
No pedestrian shall cross a roadway, other than at a crosswalk, where "Cross Only At Crosswalk" signs are posted. (1972 Code § 10.56.020)
