15.82.010 Definitions.
A. “Electronic submittal” means the use of email, facsimile, internet, or as the same may be amended from time to time.
B. “Electric vehicle charging station” or “charging station” means any level of electric vehicle supply equipment station that is designed and built in compliance with the California Electrical Code, applicable codes of Title 25 of the California Health and Safety Code, and delivers electricity from a source outside an electric vehicle into a plug-in electric vehicle. 15.82.020 Electric vehicles charging stations permit application checklist/guidelines.
A. The city shall adopt checklist/guidelines of requirements with which electric vehicles charging stations shall comply to be eligible for expedited review. The electric vehicles charging stations and checklist/guidelines shall substantially conform to recommendations for expedited permitting.
B. Documents required for the submission of an electric vehicles charging stations permit application and checklist/guidelines shall be made available on the publicly accessible city website.
C. Electronic permit applications shall be submitted at the building and safety permit counter or through the method of electronic submittal specified by the building official. An applicant’s electronic signature shall be accepted on all forms, applications, and other documents in lieu of a wet signature. (Ord. 418 § 3, 2017)
15.82.030 Permit application review.
A. An application that satisfies the information requirements in the checklist/guidelines shall be deemed complete.
B. If an expedited permit application is deemed incomplete, a written correction notice detailing all deficiencies in the application or documentation shall be provided to the applicant for resubmission.
C. The building official shall issue a building permit for any complete application that meets the requirements of the approved checklist/guidelines as follows: the same day for over-the-counter applications, or within one to three business days for electronic applications, or as soon thereafter as may be practicable. Review of the application shall be limited to the building official’s review of whether the application meets local, state, and federal requirements. (Ord. 418 § 3, 2017)
15.82.040 Inspection requirements.
Inspection requests are to be submitted by building and safety division’s standard process, as determined by the building official. (Ord. 418 § 3, 2017)
15.82.050 Fees.
At the time of this adoption, there are no state mandates regarding fees for EV systems. Fees for permits and inspections associated with this chapter shall be established by resolution of the city council. (Ord. 418 § 3, 2017)
