CITY TREASURER

The office of the City Treasurer is established pursuant to Section 36501 of the California Government Code. (Prior code § 2-15.010)
2-16.020 Appointment.
The City Manager is appointed the City Treasurer. Subject to City Council approval, the City Manager may appoint the Director of Finance as City Treasurer. (Prior code § 2-15.020)
2-16.030 Bond requirement.
The City Treasurer shall furnish a corporate surety bond to be approved by the City Council, and it shall be conditioned upon the satisfactory performance of the duties imposed upon the City Treasurer by statute, ordinance, or resolution. Any premium for such bond shall be a proper charge against the city. (Prior code § 2-15.030)
2-16.040 Functions.
The City Treasurer shall perform such duties as are prescribed by Sections 41000 through 41007 of the California Government Code and by any other provisions of law applicable to deposit, investment, and safekeeping of public funds of the city. (Prior code § 2-15.040)
