ANNUAL UPDATE AND POSTING OF THE CITY OF LAGUNA HILLS PUBLIC OFFICIALS’ COMPENSATION REPORT

2-44.010 Declaration of purpose.
The purpose of this chapter is to further encourage transparency and accountability in local government, to additionally promote public trust in city government and in the city’s financial management practices, and to further promote public participation by disseminating the compensation of the City Council and the city’s management staff in a single report that is to be made available to members of the public on the city’s official website. This chapter shall serve to further these stated purposes by requiring the annual update and posting of compensation information for City Council and city management staff as a link on the home page of the city’s official website for the public to easily access. 2-44.020 Annual update and posting of public officials’ compensation report.
A. The City Manager, or designee, shall post the August 2010 “City of Laguna Hills Public Officials’ Compensation Report” as a link on the home page of the city’s official website.
B. Beginning February 2011, and annually thereafter, not later than February 28th of each year, the City Manager, or designee, shall post an updated version of the August 2010 “City of Laguna Hills Public Officials’ Compensation Report” utilizing data from the preceding calendar year as a link on the home page of the city’s official website.
C. In the event the state of California enacts any general laws concerning the reporting of public official compensation information by municipalities, subsequent to the effective date of the ordinance codified in this chapter, the City Attorney shall approve the annual report required by this chapter as to form prior to posting to ensure compliance with applicable state law.
