POSSESSION OR CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOL BY PERSONS UNDER THE AGE OF TWENTY-ONE YEARS

9.05.010 Definitions.
For the purpose of this chapter, the following words shall be defined as follows:
"Alcoholic beverage" as defined in Section 23004 of the California Business and Professions Code, as amended from time to time, shall apply to this chapter. Section 23004 defines "alcohol beverage" to include alcohol, spirits, liquor, wine, beer, and that contains one-half of one percent or more alcohol by volume and that is fit for beverage purposes either alone or when diluted, mixed, or combined with other substances. 9.05.020 Purpose.
The purpose of this chapter is to discourage the consumption of alcoholic beverages by underage persons. (Ord. 870 §1(part), 2007)
9.05.030 Supervision by parent or guardian of alcoholic beverage possession or consumption by persons under the age of twenty-one.
A. No person under the age of twenty-one years shall possess or consume any alcoholic beverage at any place not open to the public, unless that person is being supervised by the person’s parent or legal guardian.
B. No person shall suffer, permit, allow, or host a social gathering at the person’s place of residence where one or more persons under the age of twenty-one are present and alcoholic beverages are in the possession of or being consumed by any person under the age of twenty-one years and there is no supervision by the parent or legal guardian of each of the participants under the age of twenty-one. 9.05.040 Violation--Penalty.
Any person violating this chapter is guilty of a misdemeanor. (Ord. 870 §1(part), 2007)
