DANGEROUS BUILDINGS*

13.08.010 Adoption by reference.
The city adopts, by reference, the Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings, 1997 Edition, published by the International Conference of Building Officials, for the purpose of providing a just, equitable and practicable method, whereby buildings or structures which from any cause endanger the life, limb, health, morals, property, safety or welfare of the general public or their occupants, may be required to be repaired, vacated or demolished, and providing for the issuance of permits and the collection of fees therefor; provided, however, that the amount of any such fees as set forth in the Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings shall be in an amount established by resolution.
One copy of the Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings is on file in the office of the building official for public use and examination and from the operative date of the ordinance codified in this section, the provisions thereof shall be controlling in the repair, vacation or demolition of all buildings and other subjects therein contained within the corporate limits of the city.
