2.30.010 Creation of department – Director of finance.
There is hereby created a department of finance for the city, the administrative head of which shall be a director of finance to be appointed by the city council. (Ord. 453, § 1; 1976 Code § 2-6.01).
2.30.020 Duties and powers.
The duties of the director of finance shall be to supervise and coordinate the administration of financial services for the city; to provide advice on financial matters to the city council, city manager and heads of other city departments; and to perform such other duties as may be assigned to the director of finance by the city council or city manager. (Ord. 453, § 1, Amended by Ord. 698, § 1; 1976 Code § 2-6.02).
2.30.030 Transfer of clerk’s duties.
The duties imposed upon the city clerk in Chapter 4 entitled “Financial Powers” (commencing with Section 37200) of Part 2 of Division 3 of the Government Code of California, relating to the presentation, audit and payment of demands and payrolls, are transferred to the director of finance. (Ord. 453, § 1; 1976 Code § 2-6.03).
2.30.040 Bond required.
Before entering upon the duties of the office, the director of finance shall furnish and execute a corporate surety bond to the city, conditioned upon the faithful performance of his or her respective duties, in such amount as shall from time to time be fixed by resolution of the city council.
