10.24.020 Parking prohibited at all times on certain streets.
When signs are erected giving notice thereof, no person shall park a vehicle at any time upon any of the streets where such signs are posted. [Ord. 08-1300 § 3, 2008; 1937 Code § 521.1.]
10.24.030 All-night parking.
No person shall stop, stand or park a vehicle on any street in any business district for a period of time longer than 30 minutes between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. of any day, except on the north side of El Dorado Drive from the westerly line of the Desert Palms Apartments (Assessor’s Parcel 88-071-09) to the easterly line of the Heights Drive-in Restaurant (Assessor’s Parcel 88-071-04). 10.24.040 Parking space markings.
The city traffic engineer is authorized to install and maintain parking space markings to indicate parking spaces adjacent to curbings where authorized parking is permitted.
When such parking space markings are placed in the highway, subject to other and more restrictive limitations, no vehicle shall be stopped, left standing or parked other than within a single space unless the size or shape of such vehicle makes compliance impossible. [1937 Code § 521.3.]
10.24.050 Removal of violator vehicles.
Any vehicle which is parked or left standing upon any street or highway, or any part thereof, in the city, upon which the standing or parking of vehicles has been prohibited, may be removed from such street or highway or part thereof by any police officer of the city, subject to the procedure set forth in Section 22652 of the Vehicle Code of the state. No vehicle shall be removed pursuant to this section unless signs are posted giving notice of such removal. [1937 Code § 521.4.]
10.24.060 No parking in designated street sweeping zones during posted times.
A. Whenever the director of public works and the city engineer are in agreement that a city street, alley, or public parking facility should be posted “No Parking” for the purpose of street sweeping, the public works director shall direct the installation of appropriate signs in the area, indicating prominently thereon, the parking limitation or prohibition, and the day of the week and period of the day for its application.
B. Whenever the director of public works and the city engineer are in agreement that parking or standing of vehicles on any city street, alley, or public parking facility should be prohibited or restricted for the purpose of street sweeping, no vehicle shall be parked or allowed to stand on any portion of the street, alley, or public facility in violation of signs posted therefor, and shall be cited in accordance with Chapter 1.12 PMC.
C. Any vehicle, including, but not limited to, a delivery, utility, or service vehicle, which is under the control of an individual providing service to property located on a street in the permit parking area shall be permitted to stand or be parked on the street in the area without being limited by the prohibitions or restrictions established pursuant to the ordinance codified in this chapter. Identification of such vehicle as a commercial, utility or service vehicle shall be the responsibility of the driver of such vehicle.
D. Any vehicle which is identified as used by a disabled or handicapped individual meeting the requirement of Section 22511.5 of the state of California Vehicle Code and displays a handicap plate or placard shall be permitted to stand or be parked on a street in the area without being limited by the prohibitions or restrictions established pursuant to the ordinance codified in this chapter.
