16.10.030 Adoption of the Existing Building Code.
16.10.010 Title.
This chapter shall be known and cited as the Rancho Cordova existing building code. [Ord. 5-2023 § 1; Ord. 3-2023 § 3 (Exh. A)].
16.10.020 Purpose.
The purpose of the Rancho Cordova existing building code is to provide minimum standards to safeguard life or limb, health, property, and public welfare by regulating and controlling the design, construction, installation, quality of materials, use and occupancy, location and maintenance of existing buildings and structures within this jurisdiction. 16.10.030 Adoption of the Existing Building Code.
The 2022 California Existing Building Code, Part 10, Title 24 of the California Code of Regulations (hereinafter referred to as the “State Code”), and any rules and regulations promulgated pursuant thereto, are hereby adopted and incorporated by reference herein. Except as otherwise provided by this chapter and Chapter 16.02 RCMC, the provisions thereof shall be controlling within the limits of the city of Rancho Cordova.
