The Automotive Services Department shall be under the direct supervision of the Automotive Services Superintendent, who shall be in the unclassified service. The duties and responsibilities of this Department shall be to establish an effective maintenance program for the City's automotive equipment, including the preparation of equipment specifications, rental and amortization rates, replacement schedules, the investigation of mechanical failures, and the promulgation of feasible methods of disposing of surplus City equipment.
