ADOPTION OF THE CITY ELECTRICAL CODE

There is adopted by reference that certain code known and designated as the California Code of Regulations, Title 24, Part 3, further described and referred to as the 2022 California Electrical Code, published by the California Building Standards Commission and based on the National Electric Code®, 2020 Edition, prepared by the National Fire Protection Association.
Adoption of said code shall include those articles, sections, and annexes requiring enforcement by the local building department and as further amended by the City of Santa Clarita with provisions intended to address local climatic, geologic, and/or topographic conditions, as permitted by State law. Adoption of said code shall include adoption of the following annexes: Annex A, Product Safety Standards, Annex B, Application Information for Ampacity Calculation, Annex C, Tables, Annex D, Examples, Annex E, Types of Construction, Annex F, Critical Operations power Systems, and Annex H, Administration.
Such code shall become and be the Santa Clarita Electrical Code, regulating and controlling the design, construction, installation, quality of materials, location, operation and maintenance of electrical systems, equipment and appliances. The provisions of said code shall provide for the issuance of permits and collection of fees thereof, and providing penalties for violation of such code.
The City Electrical Code shall become effective for new permit applications received by the city on or after January 1, 2023.
At least one (1) copy of the City Electrical Code has been deposited in the office of the City Clerk and shall be at all times maintained by the Clerk for use and examination by the public. (Ord. 22-10 § 2, 12/13/22)
