UNLAWFUL DIVING

9.52.010 DIVING FROM CLIFFS, BRIDGES AND OTHER PLACES PROHIBITED; EXCEPTIONS.
It is unlawful for any person to dive, jump, or enter the water, or to cause any other person to dive, jump, or enter the water from any cliff, bridge, or other structure or promontory, into the San Lorenzo River, the Monterey Bay, or other body of water under the jurisdiction and control of the city of Santa Cruz, except at places specifically designated and posted with signs permitting such diving. This section shall not apply to the regularly employed lifeguard personnel of the city or of any other governmental agency, when engaged in lifeguard training or lifesaving or emergency situations involving life or safety.

9.52.020 DESIGNATED DIVING PLACES.
Diving is permitted at those places conspicuously marked with a sign, posted by the city of Santa Cruz through its authorized officers and employees, permitting diving. Such diving shall only be done in accordance with such rules and regulations as may be established by the city.
