FEEDING OF NONDOMESTICATED ANIMALS

It is unlawful for any person to feed, offer food, or in any manner provide food as sustenance or to encourage domesticity in a nondomesticated or unsocialized animal, on private and public property, including any public way, street, or park, within the city limits, subject to the following exceptions:
A. Bird-feeders on private property are exempt;
B. Wildlife maintained, treated or fed pursuant to a valid certificate or permit issued by the state or an agency of the United States government are exempt;
C. Injured or ill nondomesticated animals may be fed as necessary to sustain life or ease suffering between the time of notification of the injury or illness to the city’s animal control officer or other appropriate authority and the time said authority takes possession of the animal(s). 9.32.020 Violation – Penalty.
Any violation of this chapter shall constitute an infraction. (Ord. 877 § 2, 1997)
