OFFENSES REGARDING MOTOR VEHICLES

7.24.010 Driving motor vehicles on private property prohibited.
A. It is unlawful for any person to operate or drive or leave any vehicle in, over, on or upon any private property, except off-street parking facilities or driveways generally open to the public, without the written permission of the owner thereof, or the person entitled to the immediate possession thereof, or the authorized agent of either.
B. Whenever any person is stopped by a peace officer pursuant to this section, he shall, upon the request of such peace officer, display such written permission. (Ord. 47 § 1, 1987; 1987 Code § 6.36.010)
7.24.020 Depositing handbills on vehicles prohibited.
A. It is unlawful for any person to place, throw or deposit or cause to be placed, thrown or deposited any handbill in or upon any vehicle in a public street, public parking lot or private parking lot without the express written consent of the owner or lessee of the lot.
B. It shall be unlawful for any person to hire, direct, or order another person to do the unlawful acts described in subsection A.
C. This section does not make it unlawful for a person to hand out or distribute without charge to the receiver thereof a handbill to any occupant of a vehicle in an otherwise lawful manner.
D. “Handbill” means any printed or written advertisement, circular, leaflet, pamphlet, booklet or product or merchandise sample. (Ord. 205 § 1, 1994; Ord. 47 § 1, 1987; 1987 Code § 6.36.020)
7.24.030 Stopping vehicles to distribute or solicit prohibited.
It is unlawful for any person to stop or cause to stop any vehicle while same is upon any public street in the city for the purpose of travel, in order to distribute or solicit the sale of any product or goods, or to solicit for or conduct any business. (Ord. 47 § 1, 1987; 1987 Code § 6.36.030)
