CHAPTER 5. JUVENILE WELFARE
ARTICLE 1. JUVENILE CAMP
5-05-1001 JUVENILE CAMP:
There is hereby created and established, pursuant to the provisions of section 880 et seq. of the Welfare and Institutions Code of the State of California, a juvenile camp for the County of Tulare. Said camp shall be known as the Tulare County Probation Youth Facility and may be so designated in court orders and other official documents. Said camp shall be situated at the site presently known as the Tulare County Probation Youth Facility unless changed by resolution of the Board of Supervisors. The internal affairs of said camp shall be under the management and control of the County Probation Officer. Said camp shall be under the charge and supervision of a superintendent or director as named, selected and appointed by the County Probation Officer, subject to confirmation by the Board of Supervisors. All other personnel at such camp shall be selected and appointed by the County Probation Officer, subject to confirmation by the Board of Supervisors.

ARTICLE 3. WORK REQUIRED OF JUVENILE COURT WARDS
5-05-1051 COURT WARDS: WORK REQUIRED:
In accordance with section 883 of the Welfare and Institutions Code of the State of California, all court wards committed to the Tulare County Probation Youth Facility may be required to perform work of the type specified in said statue under the direction and control of the County Probation Officer.

ARTICLE 5. JUVENILE DETENTION FACILITY CAMP
5-05-1100 JUVENILE DETENTION FACILITY CAMP:
There is hereby established, pursuant to the provisions of section 880 et seq. of the Welfare and Institution Code of the State of California, a juvenile camp for the County of Tulare. Said camp shall be known as the Tulare County Detention Facility Camp and may be so designated in court orders and other official documents. Said camp shall be situated at the site presently know as the Tulare County Juvenile Detention Facility unless changed by resolution of the Board of Supervisors. The internal affairs of said camp shall be under the management and control of the County Probation Officer. Said camp shall be under the charge and supervision of a superintendent or director as named, selected and appointed by the County Probation Officer, subject to confirmation by the Board of Supervisors. All other personnel at such camp shall be selected and appointed by the County Probation Officer, subject to confirmation by the Board of Supervisors.

5-05-1105 DESIGNATION OF CAMP BEDS:
The Tulare County Juvenile Detention Facility has available a total of 60 beds, designated as juvenile camp beds pursuant to Section 881 of the Welfare & Institutions Code of the State of California, and are subject to the management and control of the County Probation Officer. The number of beds designated for males and females will vary, depending on population and need.
