§4430 TRANSPORTATION OF GARBAGE, RUBBISH OR OTHER REFUSE

No garbage or rubbish or other refuse shall be removed and carried on and along the streets and alleys of the said City except that the same be carried, conveyed or hauled in conveyances so constructed as not to permit matter to blow, sift through or fail therefrom upon said streets and alleys. The contents of such conveyance must be covered so as to present the same from falling to or being blown upon the streets, alleys and adjacent lands. (Ord. 490, §111(a), adopted 1955)

§4431 TRANSPORTATION OF WET GARBAGE

No wet garbage shall be removed and carried on or along any street or alley of the City except that the same be transported in watertight containers with proper covers, so that the garbage shall not be offensive and every such container shall be kept clean and said garbage shall be loaded so that none of it shall fall, drip or spill to or on the ground, sidewalk or pavement. §4432 TRUCKS USED BY CONTRACTOR

Every truck used by contractor in the collection and removal of refuse, garbage or rubbish shall be kept well painted, clean inside and out, and in a prominent place on each truck display a sign in minimum of four inch (4") letters indicating that it is being operated by contractor for the purpose of refuse collection and disposal. §4433 HAULING OWN REFUSE PERMITTED

Nothing in this Chapter shall be construed to prohibit any producer of refuse, garbage or rubbish to personally haul in producer’s vehicles, through the streets of the City in the manner provided in this Chapter and dispose of the same at the City disposal area. Provided such hauling and disposal shall at all times be subject to the approval of the City Manager and City Health Officer and provided further that such hauling is subject to the prevailing rate levied at the disposal site as established by the City Council.
