§7360 OPERATIONAL PROCEDURE TO BE FOLLOWED

Immediately after occupancy of a parking space, the operator of a vehicle shall, unless there is unexpired time on the parking meter, deposit or cause to have deposited in the parking meter designated for said parking space a coin of the United States of a denomination designated on said meter, and, unless said parking meter is of the automatic type which requires no manual operation other than the deposit of a coin, turn a crank, knob or handle in accordance with the instructions on said parking meter. §7361 UNLAWFUL TO PARK AFTER METER TIME HAS EXPIRED

It shall be unlawful for the operator of any vehicle to permit said vehicle to remain parked in any parking space during any time that the meter is showing a signal indicating that such space is illegally in use other than such time immediately after the original occupancy as is necessary to operate the meter to show legal parking. §7362 UNLAWFUL TO EXTEND TIME BEYOND LIMIT

It shall be unlawful and a violation of the provisions of this Chapter for any person to follow the operational procedure or any part of the operational procedure for the purpose of increasing or extending the parking time of any vehicle beyond the legal parking time which has been established for the parking space adjacent to which said parking meter is placed. §7363 IMPROPER USE OF METER

It shall be unlawful for any person to deposit or cause to be deposited in any parking meter any defaced or bent coin, or any slug, device or metallic substitute for a coin of the United States or for any person to deface, injure, tamper with, open or wilfully break, destroy or impair the usefulness of any parking meter. §7364 DEPOSIT OF COINS IN METER BY UNAUTHORIZED PERSON

It shall be unlawful for any person, other than the owner or operator of a vehicle, to deposit any coin in any parking meter without the knowledge or consent of said owner or operator of the vehicle using the parking space. (Ord. 496, §8, adopted 1955)

§7365 PARKING METERS AND PARKING METER STANDARDS NOT TO BE USED FOR CERTAIN PURPOSES

It shall be unlawful for any person to attach anything to or allow a bicycle, newsrack or any other article or thing to lean against a parking meter or a parking meter standard. (Ord. 496, §9, adopted 1955)

§7366 OVERTIME PARKING

A.    City-issued parking permits for municipal off-street parking lots will be in effect Monday through Friday from seven o’clock (7:00) A.M. to three thirty (3:30) P.M.

B.    No person who owns, or has possession, custody or control of any vehicle shall park or leave standing such vehicle in any municipal off-street parking lot for seventy-two (72) or more consecutive hours.

C.    The above prohibition/limitations shall apply at the locations, days and times specified immediately after the City Engineer installs signs giving adequate notice of the prohibition or restriction.

D.    Any previously adopted City Council resolution establishing a different time limit on parking at the above locations is hereby repealed.

§7367 PARALLEL OR DIAGONAL PARKING

When a parking space in any municipal off-street parking lot is parallel with the adjacent meters, any vehicle parked or standing in such parking space shall be parked or shall stand so that the foremost part of said vehicle shall be nearest to the parking meter designated for the parking space. When a parking space in any municipal off-street parking lot is diagonal or at right angles to the parking meters, any vehicle parking or standing in such parking space shall be parked or shall stand with the foremost part of such vehicle nearest to the parking meter designated for the parking space. §7368 PARKING WITHIN PARKING SPACES

Parking spaces on municipal off-street parking lots shall be designated by lines or other appropriate markings. When parking spaces are so designated, it shall be unlawful for the operator of any vehicle to stop, stand or park said vehicle other than in a regularly designated parking space, across any such line or marking, or in such position that said vehicle shall not be entirely within the area so designated as a parking space. No vehicle shall be parked, stopped nor shall stand either wholly or partially in any driveway of any municipal off-street parking lot or in any manner which shall obstruct or interfere with the free movement of vehicles in such driveway or in any manner so as to obstruct or otherwise prevent or interfere with ingress to or egress from any regularly designated parking space. §7369 USE OF ENTRANCE AND EXIT

It shall be unlawful for any person to enter any municipal off-street parking lot over any area or driveway or the portion between any curb returns which is not marked with the word "Entrance" or otherwise indicated by arrows, signs or words that it is a driveway or place for the entering of such parking lot.

It shall be unlawful for any person to move any vehicle from any such parking lot into any public way over any area except an area marked with the word "Exit" or otherwise indicated by arrows, signs or words that it is a driveway or place for the leaving of such parking lot. §7370 WEIGHT OF VEHICLES

It shall be unlawful for any person to stop, stand or park any vehicle having a gross weight in excess of ten thousand (10,000) pounds in any municipal off-street parking lot. (Ord. 496, §14, adopted 1955)

§7371 TRAILERS

It shall be unlawful for any person to stop, stand or park any house or truck trailer in any municipal off-street parking lot. (Ord. 496, §15, adopted 1955)

§7372 LENGTH OF VEHICLES

It shall be unlawful for any person to stop, stand or park any vehicle having an overall length in excess of twenty five feet (25’) in any municipal off-street parking lot. (Ord. 496, §16, adopted 1955)

§7373 SPEED OF VEHICLES

It shall be unlawful for any person to move any vehicle on any municipal off-street parking lot at any speed exceeding ten (10) miles per hour. (Ord. 496, §17, adopted 1955)
