§8100 WATER MAINS; SIZE REQUIRED
Subdividers in all subdivisions shall provide water mains of sufficient capacity to furnish not less than five hundred (500) gallons per minute at any hydrant with a residual pressure of twenty (20) pounds per square inch plus a domestic flow of six (6) gallons per hour per capita. If requested by the City Engineer, the subdivider shall furnish to the City Engineer sufficient computations to substantiate this fact. No main shall be less than four inches (4") in diameter. §8101 WATER MAINS; MATERIAL
Water mains shall be cast iron or cement asbestos pipe in accordance with the "Standard Specifications". (Ord. 533, §4.32, adopted 1958)
§8102 SERVICE LATERALS
Copper water service laterals shall be installed to each lot in accordance with the "Standard Specifications". (Ord. 533, §4.33, adopted 1958)
§8103 VALVES
Valves shall be installed in the water mains to allow the isolation of any block without shutting off water in the rest of the subdivision. Valves shall be installed in accordance with the "Standard Specifications". (Ord. 533, §4.34, adopted 1958)
§8104 WATER MAIN LOCATION
All water mains shall be located five feet (5’) from the curb line of the north or east sides of the street, or as otherwise directed by the Fire Chief and the City Engineer. (Ord. 533, §4.36, adopted 1958)
§8105 COSTS OF CONNECTION TO EXISTING MAINS
The cost of connecting the water mains within the proposed subdivision to the existing water mains of the City shall be allocated in accordance with Chapter 1 of Division IV of this Code.1 (Ord. 533, §4.37, adopted 1958)
§8106 MINIMUM STATIC WATER PRESSURE
The minimum static water pressure in water mains throughout any subdivision shall be forty (40) pounds per square inch and any pumps, devices or structures required to establish and maintain such pressure shall be installed or constructed at the sole expense of the subdivider and shall be designed in accordance with accepted standards to the satisfaction of the City Engineer.
