§8230 PERMANENT MONUMENTS REQUIRED

Permanent monuments shall be constructed in accordance with the standard details contained in the "Standard specifications." (Ord. 533, §7.1, adopted 1958)

§8231 LOCATION OF MONUMENTS

At least two (2) permanent monuments shall be set in each block. They shall be within sight of each other and readily accessible in the street area. Those monuments may be in the street center or on a line parallel to an offset from the center, properly shown and dimensioned on the final map. (Ord. 533, §7.1, adopted 1958)

§8232 DETAILS OF MONUMENTS

Permanent monuments shall not be less than six (6) inch diameter concrete twenty-four (24) inches long, or a one (1) inch by thirty (30) inch iron pipe, the upper twelve (12) inches of which is encased in concrete, with the exact point marked by a copper or brass pin two (2) inches long. (Ord. 533, §7.1, adopted 1958)

§8233 MONUMENTS IN SURFACED AREAS

The concrete monument shall be used in all street and surfaced areas. The top of the monument shall be six inches (6") below the finished pavement grade and shall be encased by a cast iron monument box with cover set flush with the finished pavement and supported independent of the monument. §8234 MONUMENTS REQUIRED ON SUBDIVISION BOUNDARIES

Permanent monuments are described in this Article shall be set at all angle points of the exterior boundaries of the subdivision. (Ord. 533, §7.2, adopted 1958)

§8235 MONUMENTS REQUIRED ON LOT BOUNDARIES

Iron pipes one-half inches (1/2") inside diameter or one-half inch (1/2") metal rods not less than thirty six inches (36") long shall be set at the corners of all lots with the top of the monuments set twelve inches (12") below the finished grade of the ground. (Ord. 533, §7.3, adopted 1958)

§8236 TIME OF SETTING MONUMENTS

If improvements are completed prior to recording of the final map, the monuments shall be set before filing said map. If improvements are constructed under bond, the monuments shall be placed prior to the release of said bond. (Ord. 533, §7.4, adopted 1958)
