12.04.010 Depositing dangerous substances prohibited.

It is unlawful for any person to throw or deposit or cause to be thrown or deposited on any street, alley, sidewalk or other public way, any broken glass, broken crockery, nails or other dangerous substances. (Prior code § 15-3)

12.04.020 Vehicles injurious to streets prohibited.

A.    It is unlawful to operate any vehicle on public streets within the city which cause injury to the pavement, sidewalk, street striping, manholes, valve boxes or other elements of public property located within the street right-of-way.

B.    This prohibition includes, but is not limited to, construction equipment with metal tracks, and cranes with outriggers unless the streets are adequately protected with timber planks or some type of load distribution system that is acceptable to the city.

C.    This prohibition includes, but is not limited to, vehicles whose weight and/or weight distribution exceeds the limits set forth in the Model Traffic Code which has been adopted by the city by ordinance.

D.    No part of this code is intended to restrict the use of studded rubber tires on passenger vehicles or light trucks during the months of October, November, December, January, February, March and April. (Ord. 1991-27 § 2: prior code § 15-4)

12.04.030 Removal of snow and ice.

The owner, manager, agent, lessee, tenant, or occupant of any real property within the city shall remove all snow and ice as is reasonably possible from all sidewalks adjoining their real property and which are adjacent to a public right-of-way within twenty-four (24) hours of the accumulation of one (1) inch of snowfall and/or the accumulation of any amount of ice. 12.04.040 Sidewalks and areas reserved for pedestrians.

A.     It shall be unlawful for any person riding or using a bicycle, skateboard, roller skates, roller blades, roller skis, coasters and any similar devices to enter into an area posted to exclude riding on or using such a device.

1.    This shall include a location between the north side of Cherry Creek Drive South and the flow line of the Cherry Creek.

2.    The City Manager, as may be appropriate, shall designate other areas in the city, as being off limits for purposes of the conduct prohibited herein.

3.    All areas designated by this section shall be posted thirty (30) days prior to enforcement of such prohibition and shall remain posted. (Ord. 2005-1 § 1)
