2.40.010 Department created.

There shall be and hereby is established a police department for the city, which shall consist of a chief of police and other employees as shall be authorized. (Code 1997 § 2-4-1).

2.40.020 Prior appointments and oaths.

All appointments made and oaths administered for Gunnison police department officers (or any prior name derivative for the department or officers) from May 9, 1956, are hereby reaffirmed. (Ord. 4-2022 § 2, 2022)

2.40.030 Appointment authority.

The city manager is hereby authorized to appoint Gunnison police department officers. (Ord. 4-2022 § 3, 2022)

2.40.040 Oaths of office – Authority.

The police chief or city clerk is hereby authorized to administer oaths of office to Gunnison police department officers. (Ord. 4-2022 § 4, 2022)

2.40.050 Oaths of office – Administration.

Oaths of office shall be administered in the form authorized pursuant to Section 24-12-101, C.R.S., and in accordance with the requirements of Section 29-5-101, C.R.S. (Ord. 4-2022 § 5, 2022)
