1-08-010 Corporate seal authorized.
The seal provided and authorized for the city shall contain, in the outer circle the words “City of Harvey — Illinois — Incorporated — 1891"; in the upper half of the center of the seal shall be shown a pair of scales and a beehive, and in the lower half of the center of which seal shall be shown an anvil, a hammer, two gears and factory, a facsimile of which seal appears below, is declared to have been and now to be the seal of the city. For general use, the plain impression in white containing the figures as given above shall be sufficient. (Ord. 2910 § 1 (part), 1995)
1-08-020 Design of flag.
The municipal flag shall be yellow and white, with the words “City of Harvey — Illinois — Incorporated — 1891” printed in yellow on a white back ground; the city seal shall appear on the flag as described above in yellow figures on a white background. (Ord. 2910 § 1 (part), 1995)
1-08-030 City vehicle identification.
All automobiles and other vehicles which are owned by the city, except those used by the chief of police and the detective bureau of the department of police shall be distinctly marked as the property of the city by painting or placing thereon, in a conspicuous place the capital letter “H” followed by a number determined by the superintendent of public works. For purposes of assigning a number to each vehicle, the superintendent of public works shall be authorized to establish a system of identification numbers to permit monitoring of the vehicles in the city’s fleet. The vehicle identification authorized by this section shall be in addition to any other authorized marking appearing on vehicles owned by the city. (Ord. 2910 § 1 (part), 1995)
1-08-040 Private use of flags unlawful.
It is be unlawful for any person to use the municipal flag, or any imitation or design thereof, except for the usual and customary purposes of decoration or display. No person shall print or stamp thereon or cause to be displayed thereon any letter, work, legend or device not herein provided for. Any person violating this section shall be fined not less than ten dollars ($10.00) nor more than twenty-five ($25.00) for each offense. (Ord. 2910 § 1 (part), 1995)
1-08-050 Private use of seal unlawful.
No person shall fraudulently forge, deface, corrupt or counterfeit the seal of the city, nor shall any person, other than the duly authorized public official, make use of said seal. Any person violating the provisions of this section shall be fined not less than twenty-five ($25.00) nor more than two hundred dollars ($200.00) for each offense. (Ord. 2910 § 1 (part), 1995)
