CIRCUSES

5.16.010 License required.
No person, firm or corporation shall conduct or operate a circus in the village without having first obtained a license as is provided in this chapter.
5.16.020 Application.
The application for such license shall be made to the village clerk and shall specify the place in or on which the circus is to be conducted.
5.16.030 Fee.
The fee for the circus license shall be three hundred dollars. (Ord. 2002-07 § 7, 2002; Ord. 89-5 § 8, 1989; Ord. 84-5 § 8, 1984)
5.16.040 Sideshows and concessions.
The license fee for each sideshow and concession operated in connection with the circus shall be ten dollars per day. (Ord. 2002-07 § 8, 2002)
5.16.050 Compliance with regulations.
It shall be the duty of every person licensed under this chapter to obey the provisions of Chapter 5.10 RMC and all other ordinance provisions relating to circuses or the premises occupied.
5.16.060 Inspection.
It shall be the duty of the chief of police and the fire marshal to see that inspections as provided for in Chapter 5.10 RMC shall be made of all circuses, circus performances and of the premises used.
5.16.070 Cheating.
It is unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to cheat, shortchange or otherwise defraud any person attending or about to attend a circus performance within the village.
5.16.080 Bond.
It is unlawful to conduct any parade connected with a circus on any public street, alley or other public way or place in the village unless a permit therefor is obtained from the board of trustees. Such permit shall specify the route to be followed, and shall be accompanied by a bond in the sum of three hundred dollars, conditioned to indemnify the village for any loss, damage or liability incurred or cause by the conduct of such exhibition or such parade.
