3.65.010 Created – Payments of membership dues.

The Controller is hereby authorized to establish, and the City Council is hereby authorized to budget and appropriate monies from the General Fund or from other funds into, a Promotional Account Fund in each department of the City. The Promotional Account Fund shall be included in each department’s budget as the line item entitled “Subscriptions, Dues, and Promotions.” [Ord. 3.65.020 Custodian.

In each department wherein there is established a Promotional Account Fund, the department head shall be designated as custodian of the said fund. [Ord. F-82-31, passed 9-14-82. 1962 Code, Art. 3, Ch. 35, § 2; 1982 Code § 30.431; 1983 Code § 3.30.431.]

3.65.030 Duties.

(A) The department may use the monies within the fund to pay membership dues for appointed officials and members of the respective boards and councils in the custodian’s department and in local, regional, State, and national associations of a civic, educational, or governmental nature which have as their purpose the betterment and improvement of municipal governmental operations. The original of a receipt shall be taken for each expenditure.

(B) The department may use the monies within the fund to defray the necessary expenses for the participation of duly designated representatives in the meetings and activities of such associations. 3.65.040 Method of expenditure.

3.65.050 Effective date.

The ordinance codified in this chapter shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage by the Common Council, signing by the Mayor, and legal publication, if any, as required by law.
