Chapter 18.60
F-1 FLOODPLAIN DISTRICTS
Sections:
18.60.010 Purpose.
The purpose of this chapter is to establish a district to meet the needs of waterways in the town to carry the abnormal flow of water at times of flood; to prevent encroachments into the district which might increase flood height, decrease the capacity for flood water storage and consequently increase the potential for loss of life and damage to property in the areas of greatest flood hazard. The floodplain districts are those as identified by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP), with the accompanying flood insurance rate maps and flood boundary-floodway maps along with any subsequent revisions to the text or maps, and are hereby adopted by reference and declared to be a part of this chapter. The flood insurance study is on file in the office of the clerk-treasurer. (Reference Chapter 15.55 HMC, Flood Damage Control.) [Ord. 1659 § 1, 2017].
18.60.020 Applied standards.
In an F-1 floodplain district, Chapter 15.55 HMC, Flood Damage Control, shall apply. [Ord. 1659 § 1, 2017].
