CLAIMS IN ADVANCE OF BOARD ALLOWANCE

1.16.010 Enabling Provision.
The Board of Commissioners of Vanderburgh County, are hereby empowered by IC 36-2-6-4.5 to adopt an ordinance allowing the County Auditor to make claim payments in advance of Board of County Commissioners allowance for lawful county purposes.

1.16.020 Procedures.
The following procedures shall be followed for the allowance of claims to be paid in advance of allowance by the Board of Commissioners of Vanderburgh County:
A. Any lawful claim may be paid in advance by the Board of County Commissioners as set forth in I.C. 36-2-6-4.5(b) if supported by a fully itemized invoice or bill and certification by the County Auditor;
B. Unless otherwise directed by the Board of County Commissioners, any lawful claim may be paid in advance by the Board of County Commissioners pursuant to County Ordinance, a contract approved by the County Commissioners, grant, invoices relating to supplies currently budgeted by County Council, or order previously approved by the Board of County Commissioners or by the Vanderburgh County Redevelopment Commission so long as such claim is supported by a fully itemized invoice or bill and certification by the County Auditor; and
C. The Board of County Commissioners shall review and allow the claim at its next regular or special meeting following the pre-approved payment of the expense.
