COUNTY PARKS MANAGER

2.72.010 County parks manager.

A.    The board of county commissioners shall have the management and control of the operation of all county parks and park facilities and may appoint a county parks manager to supervise the daily operation of all county parks and recreation activities and facilities. The board of county commissioners shall prescribe the duties of the county parks manager and any other employees necessary for the discharge of the duties and responsibilities prescribed. The board of county commissioners shall recommend to the county council the compensation of the county parks manager and all other employees and shall fix the compensation in conformity with the funds appropriated for such purposes by the county council.

B.    The county parks manager and any other employees whose duty it is to handle funds received or disbursed in the operation of any county park or recreation facility shall execute a surety bond in an amount fixed by the board of county commissioners, the bonds to be conditioned for the faithful performance of the duties of each person and approved by the board of county commissioners.

C.    The county parks manager, so appointed, shall on a date prescribed by the board of county commissioners, render to the board of county commissioners each month a detailed written report of the operations of county parks and parks facilities for the previous month, on forms prescribed by the State Board of Accounts.

D.    The county parks manager shall pay over daily, except Sundays and legal holidays, to the county treasurer for deposit in the general fund of the county, all monies, funds, and income derived in and from the operation of county parks and facilities.
