2.80.010 Council of governments--Established.

The council of government is an agency established pursuant to federal statutes with a combined funding between the city of Evansville and Vanderburgh County.

2.80.020 Evansville Metropolitan Planning Organization--Established.

The Evansville Metropolitan Planning Organization (EMPO), formerly known as the Evansville Urban Transportation Study (EUTS) is an agency established pursuant to the Federal Highway Act of 1962. Operation and continued certification of the EMPO is necessary to meet the requirements for federal participation in the area’s highway and transit programs. In meeting those requirements, the EMPO is responsible for all long and short-range 3-C planning, including roadway and transit improvements, traffic flow studies, and operations analysis.
